Hi this little guy, earth eater? came with my 125g on craigslist. His tail doesn't seem to spread out much, that normal for him? little worried about clamp fin, seems a bit on the twitchy side the one time he came out, maybe skittish.. Also nls 1 mm ok for him or does he need something special? thanks

I cant realy see but does he have red trailing fins at the back top of his dorsal fin?

Na i just looked on the computer the nose is pointier on yours. Looks like a geo of some sort but im not sure
 
No top fin will have trailing fin like red thread flowing from the top but i think im wrong on the heckelii
 
Looks like Geophagus brasiliensis to me. They are little pushy but a very good looking geo. If you want more of a Central American attitude in a South American fish than this fish fits the bill.
 
If its a Geophagus Cbourg746 will know witch one it is but either way the NLS is the best.

I agree, brasiliensis. That was my guess before seeing the comment lol yeah, they can be pretty tough compared to most geos
 
suitable tank mates? right now I've got a big mix ..5 sevs and geo in the 125 I bought, my lutino O, FM, JD, jewel, 2 cons all juvenile have 55g and 29g and decision making to do. Of coarse will be observing the new fish a while before adding any of mine
 
I looked up the geo you guys stated looks like that could be him. thanks If he came out of hiding could be easier to compare =)
