Help I bought another one. I picked up this 12 gallon nano for a deal on Craigslist. Its my first nano. I was thinking pull some water and a piece of liverock from my 75 to start it...what do y'all think?
Its the nano cube deluxe and it actually is 12 gallons... so excited. It has 2 24w fifty/fifties and also 2 led moon lights. Just checked everything and all is in working order.
very nice! i just got the surface skimmer for my 24g nano about 2 weeks ago, and its not just you. it definitly makes a difference with the film on top of the water. it literally cleared up in seconds after i installed it. how much did you pay for the settup?
I got rid of the surface skimmer on my 24 because of how much it reduced the water level in the in tank sump. I just point my maxijet pro 600 powerhead at the surface and have more aeration and none of the surface slime.
I like to have a lot of carbon in the sump and with all of that carbon the flow was so reduced in combination with the surface skimmer that to have more than 4" of water in the pump section I had to practically overflow the tank.
Glad I parted with it because there are a lot more particles floating around now, which makes it so I don't have to feed my feather dusters or Montipora, and hopefully the Goniopora I've been eying at my LFS <3.
i added my skimmer when my water level was low and it made my sump level go really low. so i took the skimmer off and topped the tank off to the normal level, and replaced the skimmer, and the sump level was fine. ( i wanted to see the difference before and after i added more water, thats why i took the skimmer off when i topped it off)
