Is it dangerous?!!

OK..This one is creepy. It's some kind of worm, about an inch long. Grey with a black head and appears to have two or more little white antennae, or its coming out of the mouth, I cant tell. It appears to have many legs. And it seems to be looking for something! Is this something bad?

No Camera....It does not look like a bristle worm..it's almost leach like! It streches and gets skinny at the head. Numerous legs, but more round...It's head looks funky. comes to a point, black and has three white things that come out in a symetrical pattern like a star.

Im about to yank it out

It kind of sounds like a peanut worm, but they don't have lots of legs and tend to be nocturnal.

I pulled it out. Gonna take it to LFS, and see what they think it is.

I just put in my clown...don't want anything killing it


UPDATE: LFS says its a peanut worm. Lets hope so!

Peanut worms (Sipunculida)are usually found stretching out from within the rock, feeding with a rasping motion. No legs, usually smooth. Sounds more like some other type of polychaete worm to me. Here is a link w/ some common hithikers and their pics-

the mouth looks like the peanut....I don't know...let's just hope it doesnt kill anything. 8O
