This is my first time dealing with swollen fish, but two of my mollies have gotten quite large. Is this just them ready to have fry or could it be dropsy? They are acting normal with their full Droopy Dog character and are constantly feasting on algae (and flake at meal time).

Sorry for the blur. The camera on my phone sucks.

If the females are with males they are pregnant. No question asked. She looks about 1 week into pregnancy. another 3 to go. She may eat her fry, watch out. Add some plants for fry to hide in

I have no idea how to tell who's male and who's female except that two are swollen and two are not.

Thanks. Now I have some things to watch for.

What kind/how many plants do I need to hide the fry until they get big enough? I have the bottom of my 10g carpeted in swords and downoi.

Where do the fry hide to get away from everybody? Also, how much danger would harlequin rasboras, neon tetras, and ottocinclous cats pose to the fry?
