Saw this at Petsmart today would it be worth it? Or does it not really do anything?

Not for the tank in your signature. For a smaller tank, it would be ok... but it's just an overpriced DIY type co2 reactor. You could make one for $5 that would be essentially the same thing. For bigger tanks, multiple reactors are required... but really pressurized is the only way to get a consistent concentration of co2... remember that fluctuating co2 is almost always worse than no co2.
