is it true that anacheris puts out a chemical to stop blue-green algae? because i was snooping around and i read it somewhere

My anacharis did exactly nothing to stop my bluegreen algae infestation.
The maracyn worked though. Though now that you mention it I have never seen blue green algae growing on anacharis like it used to on my other plants. Hmmm . . . On the other hand it could just be that the anacharis grows so fast & always has to be pruned that the blue green can't get a toehold.
Has anyone ever seen healthy green anacharis with blue-green algae on it??
