Isthis a good hood?

M not looking to grow coral or anything, it would just be for my tanganyikan shellies. If not can anyone recommend another hood for about the same price? Thanks!

That's not a hood.... that's just a stand alone fixture. Just any old light will be fine if it's not planted.

Have you heard of using actinic bulbs in a tanganyikan tank?

Sure. I used a 10,000k and actinic over my mbuna tank. If you want that look, just get a single bulb fixture with a 50/50 bulb.
