I am going to get a dempsey seeing as my native fish idea didn't work. I need info for them now. but here is a plan that you guys and ladies can help me with.

Tank: 65 gallon
Holds: 1 dempsey 2 firemouths & some dither fish
Lighting& plants: ????
Filtration: 1-2 HOB for mech and a 10-15 sump wet/dry for bio
Heating:????

Anythign else i am missing for the tank? Sugestions for the ????. Will this plan work out? Any info appriciated.

Thanks People at AA. :D

Fish sound good to me, make sure that the firemouths are big enough to put up with the dempsey. Jungle or giant val(plant) did well in my tank.

Get a large cave like thing for the dempsey and face it to the front of the tank so you can see it when it is hiding in there.

I would suggest a smaller grain gravel like a thick type of sand because the Firemouths and the dempseys both like to dig.

Also, put something in there to break up the line of sight so the fish aren't always defending against each other.
