Kalk mixing

Im considering a bulk Kalk mixer, in a 5 gal paint bucket. 5 gallons would be about 7 days worth of top off water, in which I would slow dose the kalk in a separate container. What I would like to do is run a small power head in the bucket to keep it stirred, then every 3 days transfer it to my ATO container.

Will this work? Do I need to keep the powerhead running 24/7? Will the kalk last a week or so before losing potency?

Its a simple way to dose kalk through your ATO, you don't want to circulate it with a powerhead because you want the sludge to settle, just mix it with your ATO water and have the pump about 4" off the bottom.

If I'm only using about 50% saturated mix, will there still be much precipitated on the bottom? What about running the powerhead for an hour or to at mixing, then letting it settle? Would I need to give it a quick 'stir' periodically before adding to my ato?
