I was wondering if anybody has any experience in keeping German Blue Rams at temperatures in the upper 70s F (rather than the low/mid 80s). Several sources state that 82 F is the "sweet spot" for GBRs and that they'll be more disease-prone at lower temps. I've also read conflicting articles that claim that only the younger fish need the 80+ temps. Has anybody kept them over the long-term in the upper 70s?
I'm looking to add a dwarf cichlid or two to my SA community tank (currently at 77 F) and I'm not comfortable going higher than 79 F.
