So my 20 Gallon was leaking this morning and I decided why not get a larger tank? I moved the fish into my smaller tank just temporarily, I drained the tank below the leaking spot and all the water is in buckets, i got a new 36 gallon tank, if i put all the water back into the new tank and everything can i put the fish in immediately or do i still need to do the fishless cycle?

Add your old filter on to your new tank i did that when i upgraded my bettas tank and added his deco and substrate all went fine. Just keep an eye on your paras. Good luck

I put both the old and new filter on the tank, so that the new one can get settled, but the old one's bacteria goes into the tank, sadly a few fish did not survive the move but hopefully my favorites will! Any tips or tricks?

Acclimate slowly and leave that old filter for a while just to be safe. Test that water frequently!
