Lighting/ bulbs for 5.5

Yesterday i got a 5.5 gallon, and so far it holds water. I plan on keeping my beta in it when she grows up. I only got the tank, and was going to put egg crates for a lid.

I plan on some plants ( this is what i want so far)
Water wisteria
Java moss
Any suggestions?

For the lighting i read it is expensive, so i was going to get a desk lamp for it. What kind of bulb should i look for in the lamp?
