Lighting for a 55

I am looking to upgrade to MH and I would like to know what wattage and possibly what brands some fellow reefers use that you would recommend. I would like the option of keeping virtually any type of coral or clam. TIA.

I dont have MH`s but when I was looking one time ebay had a big selection of them. At excellent prices also.

Ice cap ballasts are wonderful. Also, investigate the XM bulbs.

2x175 or 2x250. 2x250 might lead to heat problems though. I have a CoralVue Retro MH/T5) on my 75. I love the CV Reeflux bulbs.

Lots of options for you. I do agree that 2x175 or above would caused too much heat and not a lot of benefit from a 2x150watt system.
