Liquid fertiliser as substrate fertiliser

I am currently gathering supplies for a 5 gallon betta tank. I recently picked up a bottle of liquid fertiliser, but then I realised that some of the plants I wanted to get were root feeding plants. Is it possible to get away with using liquid fertiliser as substrate fertiliser? I was thinking of injecting it into the bottom of the tank into the substrate. Or will my rooted plants still be fine with liquid fertiliser, just not as fast-growing.

No, that really won't work.

For root feeding plants you really need root tabs. There are two types I would currently use.
