I recently set up a 50g sea clear system 2, I only have a 3.5" chamber available for a skimmer, I've heard bad reviews on the sea clear proprietary skimmer, ( doesn't work, under powered, etc.) any body have one of these running in a system 2 that likes them?
anyone have any ideas on a DIY version? Or a modification technique to improve the seaclear.
On a side note, how important is a skimmer. This is my first large tank and it's been over two months now and I have no water. Quality issues, my soft corals are thriving and my fish are swimming happy and eating healthy. Both pellets and frozen. Any one have a setup with out a skimmer? Am I on my way to a disaster without one?
