I need an opinion on which fixture I should get for a 40 g moderately planted

This- two bulbs 78 watt I believe

40 G Lighting

Good morning Geo...

The 78 watt set up is likely less expensive and will provide your tank with plenty of light for most of the typical aquarium plants. I have a 45 G tall (see pic) and experiment with different ferts and substrates in low light, less than a watt per gallon and have several different plants in it.

Unless you plan on going with more light demanding plants the lower watt lighting will be fine.
