What is your current ph, gh, and kh? Why do you think it needs raising? What is the ph, kh, and gh of tap water? How much water do you change out each week on WC's? There are a lot of reasons that tanks can have low alkalinity but depending on levels it may or may not need adjusting. Are you wanting to increase it due to keeping African Cichlids?

Kh was about 20 pH is 6.8 my GH is high I have very hard water to begin with
