I have a 23 gal Reef and i have been hearing that if you have enough LR in your tank, you wont need another form of filtration. Is this true? if so, then how many LBS of LR would i need in this 23 gal? i have 15 LBS in there now, and i would love to get rid of this ole filter. its just an eyesore sitting on the back of the tank. open to any and all suggestions. thanks.

Probably a good 40 pounds of so. 1-2lbs per gallon.

I still keep a filter on mine, it keeps the water moving nicely. :)

well, i got a rather nice power head, the same we had for our 100 gal tank, it has the capacity for 200 gal i believe. a bit of overkill, i know, but i keep it capped to really, REALLY, slow so as to not disturb anything, and most everyone in there seems to enjoy the slight "breeze"
