I should be getting my orbit pc light today (40 watt with a lunar light). Should I keep the lunar light on all the time or run it on a separate timer?

I leave the moonlights on 24/7. The power usage on the moonlight LEDs is so low, it would probably cost you more to get a timer than to run the LEDs for a few years.

Also, I believe the LED lights have a 10,000 hr life on them. I have not heard of one burning out yet.

On that note, I run mine 24/7

Actully, my LED moon light bulbs have an expected life of 100,000 hours.

I leave them on all the time, so I may have to replace the LED bulbs about 12 years from now. That'll set me back about 40 cents.

Which lunar lights would you guys recommend? I saw a couple online relatively inexpensive.

Setting up a FOWLR tank that will have an eel or two, would love to get some lunars.
