i will have a 20 set up soon with a 20 sump/fuge combo,, do you think a mag 5 will be enough to get the water back up to the main tank about 40 inches above the sump

The Mag 5 pump is capable of 500 gallons per hour so it will easily get you to a target flow of 10 capacity and may even need to be restricted with a ball valve on the return but you won't know until you get it all set up.

i seen a chart a little while ago that shows the mag 5 still puts out 300gph with a 4ft. head so i should be good
