Blue spot method can be inaccurate. Pink belly is telltale though.

the first one looks like a male and the second looks like a female. the black spot on the side of the first gbr looks solid black and the second picture looks like it has blue spots in the black.

Yeah its a female for sure, see the large black dot on its side, it has small blue dots in it and that shows its a female, males will have a solid black circle. What size tank are they in?

My gbrs are in a 120 with all types of fish and they still chase just each other

They are cichlids so they may fight a little bit but they can handle it.

I just exchanged for another 1 and i just put him in. Not sure what they are doing but they are like circling around each other. Breeding or fighting?

almost positive this is male, tell tale is the lack of blue iridescent spots in the black dot. males also lack the pink/red belly and have a more orange face.

this is female, thebelly is turning pink/red and had more pronounced black in the pec fins. blue dots in the black also.
