Male or female?

Any one have a guess what gender our pleco is?

My dear god that is a Huge Pleco. Geeze. Looks like it takes up half the friggin' tank...lol

It it only 6 inches long. I tried to get close ups so some one could tell us its gender so the kids can name it.

It is in my 29 at this minute. As soon as my 55 us cycled he? will go into it.

He looks bigger than he really is. As for judging the sex it usually takes until they are sexually mature to really be able to tell. Females will be slightly rounder in the belly.

Oh ok, ya the close up does make it look a lot bigger.

I read they mature between 4 and 5 months and this one is prolly 8 at the least!

Google "sexing pleco's" there may be some YouTube vids. I know there are for BN an clown Pleco.
