Today I moved a couple things around in my crayfish tank and I noticed one of my younger crays is carry eggs already! Not sure how much longer is left, but I'll be checking every day for babies crawling around. Will definitely try to get some pictures, but will probably be very hard because she won't come out of hiding now. She is still only about 1.5 inches in length.

I have quite a few of them. They are very big eaters and go through a pound of hornwort a week!

I have read that they do not harm their babies but I have had most of my success providing very small hiding spots for the young crays.

I silicone a bunch of drinking straws together and use a rock to weight it down. The babies can hide inside the straw tubes and the adults cant get to them.

Good luck with your crays!! Id love to see pictures:)

I absolutely love my crays :) I'd love to see some pics of yours too! I've had mine since february but I've only had one batch of babies. They are in a 15g tank with plenty of (plastic) plants and hiding spots. They eat all the time and go nuts when I put some big flakes in. When they float to the bottom every crayfish runs to it instantly. It's quite amusing to watch and my daughter loves them!

The last pic is when they were first hatched.. So tiny and cute. And the pic with the cray under the driftwood is carrying eggs.
