Marineland filter cartridge help

I have a marine land penguin 150 it takes rite size b cartridges. I was woundering if anyone knows about the size difference between them and the size c. I wanted to get the refillable case for it but it only comes in c. I'm hoping that mab I could cut some of the sides of it to fit if its not any thicker.
Anyone have any ideas on this or mab Another way to get some more filtration out of my filter?

You can't use the refillable ones with the 150. What you can do is cut the top of one of your cartridges, dump the old carbon and add in new.

Or, do what I did and ditch the cartridges all together. Use some polyfill batting and some SeaChem Matrix with a pouch of Purigen. Much more effective filtration.

Edit to add: If you go with my initial suggestion, make sure to siphon some tank water into a small bowl or bucket and swish the filter in after you empty it, to get rid of the big chunks o' poo....
