i have two clowns and i think they have mated they always stay real close to each other and one shakes like a spaz if they have mated and do lay eggs how would i know too look for the eggs cause i dont want any thing to eat them before they could hatch and does anyone know how many eggs they lay

If you bought them together and they were fairly small they probably are a pair now.

A clown pair would have one larger clown (female) and the smaller clown (male). If your clowns have not fully sized up to where the female is significantly larger than the male your pair might be getting there but not quite.

I would suggest a good clown specific book like the following.

Clownfishes by Joyce D. Wilkerson
