Some random photos of the tanks and my new 1 gallon red cherry shrimp tank!:D (it's cycling) the heater from the picture is an aqueon. Quick question: the biocube Is full of corral one algae on the back. Obviously it's dead but when I start the tank with it come back and spread?

I though the question was about the Coraline algae on the back of the tank. It doesn't regenerate.

Ok so it wont come back? I'll have to get some lr with some coralline.

How will you filter the rcs tank?

I'll be doing something called the welstad method. You plant it thickly and the plants add a natural filtration for the shrimp. All you have to do is a pwc every few months. It's like a closed ecosystem. I've never done it before but it sounds really cool.

I would just be worried about algae because of the light but I have heard of that method. It sounds like it works. Good luck! Did you make a thread about it?

Yep! It's under freshwater brackish getting started. No replies yet:p haha I'm really exited I'll be adding everything this weekend.

Question: the koralia nano that the tank came with is missing the magnet for the dry side. What do I do? Dean it be used with just the suction cup?

or any decently strong magnet will work... i foudn that my koralia is a bit noisier if i dont have the second magnet on it.

I have a 2 yr old who is very interested in "helping" and has removed the dry side suction cup more than once

Haha so it will stay on without a magnet?

yeah it does, the suction seems to keep for quite a while at least a couple of days in my tank, even running a magnet over it once in a while will suck in back into place, but like i said it seemed to get a slight hum to it when the magnet wasnt in place.

Alright I'll take a trip to Wally world today and see if I can find a magnet.
Thanks:D

Holy crap... My parents just pointed out the "suggestive nature" of my username.... It was ment as a reference to the movie "the godfather". Is it too late to change my username? Because I AM NOT deleting this account.
