Equipment:
Tank - Fluval Spec 2 (8.7" x 8.7" x 11.8")
Lighting - Fluval 21 LED (1w/LED) clamp on light
Filtration - Built in overflow filter
Heater - None at the moment. I might get one when it starts to get colder.
CO2- None! :) This is a low-tech build.

Substrate/Hardscape:
  • Black sand
  • Seiryu stones

Flora:
Carpet - Marsilea minuta
Accent/Background - Anubias sp. "Micro" and Anubias nana. petite

Fauna:
Red cherry shrimp (for now- I might get some nano fish later on)

It is really weird scaping with seiryu stones using the rule of thirds in a tank that is only 9" wide, and this tall (perspective wise).

I am open to suggestions on the scape. I kind of think I need a stone on the right side, but I don't have any that small.

Anything new going on with this Pico tank? Some needle leaf java fern would look nice or a bunch of mini Xmas moss.

Not much new has gone on yet. I tossed in some of the extra plants you sent me (until I find a more permanent place for them). I would post a full tank shot, but it looks kind of messy right now. I tried to get some pictures of the new betta (still not the best), but I'll post them.

Here's the new betta. I haven't named her yet.

The glass has some brown scum on it. I will try to get it cleaned up this weekend and find a better place for the plants.
