Hello,

I have 4 mollies (3 F, 1 M) and a red fin tail shark in a 40 gallon tank. I just changed the filter media in the tank and put some active bio bacteria. My 1 male molly is just sitting in the corner and has been acting like that for a couple days. Any thoughts?

What are your current water parameters? You may have crashed your cycle when your replaced your media and your tank may need to be re cycled

I am not sure, but the other fish are super happy and active. And i use fluval bioological bacteria booster after each change.

The bacteria bottles can be hit or miss and they don't actually cycle the tank they just introduced the beneficial bacteria to the tank the don't establish a healthy bb colony what are you seeing on your water test are you seeing ammonia nitrate or nitrite? Also it's best to keep your filter media until it's latterly falling apart don't change it out unless absolutely necessary just rinse it in tank water during water changes when you replace it your throwing alot of your beneficial bacteria into the garbage I'm not an expert by any means but it sounds like you're cycle may have crashed and your fish is suffering from new tank syndrome so to speak
