mom has a 15 gallon she wants a cichlid but 1 that is not shy
we have told her a oscar needs 75 at least she plans on 1 of the year to get a pair in a 100 gallon
a fire moth 29 min
black convict 29 min
what can she have in it if it has red eyes she loves it :thanks:

15 gallon is to small for any cichlid I would recommend starting with a 40-50 gallon but even that should be temporary

would a shell dwellers work
what else can we try i know it small but best we can do

it has the floor of a ten but taller might be able to upgrade to a 20-30 gallon on black friday

I think you'd be ok with a dwarf red cockatoo with a small shoal. 1 krib would be ok in a 15 long, but if yours has the floor space of a 10 id say not.

Bigger tanks are definitely better for cichlids though generally.

You could probably do a pair of Apistogramma cacatuoides(cockatoo cichlid) in a standard 15g assuming it is 24" long.
