I have a tank cycling and want to try and gr8 a carpet plant. It has a really good light but no co2. I was thinking I could get a flame moss pad and put it on the bottom. Would it spread out like a carpet?

You could do it but it would take a long time to grow. Most carpets are formed after being trimmed a lot to stay short. You could make a moss wall by sandwiching moss in between 2 mesh sheets and letting it grow. Go ahead and try the carpet, but it would take a while.

What is the fastest growing moss?

Java moss grows the fastest, but it's terribly ugly and invasive. One of the best moss carpets I've seen used Fissidens fontanus.
