Okay, so I've got a planted tank and plenty of mulm happening at the moment. From what I've read though, mulm is a) beneficial to a planted tank b) will decompose naturally c) is preferred by kuhli's.

So, my question would then be how important is regular gravel (sand) vacuuming?

Pros and cons anyone?

Vacuum any excess mulm off the surface, and you may also gravel vac any areas that aren't planted. Leave the rest to the plants.
