My ammonia is a 0.25 ppm. I read this is not safe and needs to be treated. Will vacuuming the gravel and treating the water with Prime help . Any advice is helpful.
.25ppm ammonia is just fine. However if it raises above that you are going to want to do 50% water changes to keep the levels down. Vacuuming gravel and not overfeeding are two very good ways of keeping the ammonia levels down in a tank. Take a look at this link. I just learned about cycling but I already have fish. What now?! - Aquarium Advice
What about vacuuming out 50% of the water then treating the whole tank with Prime and avoid over feeding
Yep, water changes are 100% the best way to remove excess ammonia in the tank.
