My betta hates me :(

I currently have my female fish Lady in a tube in my male, Tommy's tank but cannot watch their progress because when I come and check on them Tommy flares at me and won't do anything until I leave :/
Lady loves it when I check on her and gets vertical stripes when I talk to her lol
What should I do?

Male bettas are like that. Depends on your individual betta. Some have alot of personality. I had one that ate out of my hand. But some will flare at anything and everything.
