Had her fry... There are bunches of little sets of eyes peering out from all over the place...
Great news, any idea how many???Had her fry... There are bunches of little sets of eyes peering out from all over the place...
Yeah it's a pretty impossible task!!!. I don't even bother now, just a rough guess. I have fry from 4-6wks, I still don't try!!!!.Well Ian, I tried to count, however, it turned out to be more challenging than I anticipated. I'll keep you updated as I see more sets of eyes. I'm waiting for my cream Molly to have her fry now... That's going to be a lot of sets of eyes looking at me...lol.
Yeah they seem grow so fast. Any chance of some pictures???My fry are in the tank with the rest of the fish. There are SO many hiding places they aren't in any danger. And they are getting so big so fast!
Sorry to hear that. This has happened to me a few times. I don't know if there is an answer. Maybe the birth just took it out of her. Mine were the same, fine just after the birth but death a few hours later. I find it happens more with newer mothers....Ian as soon as they peek out I'll post some pictures. But there's some upsetting news; I found the mama this morning dead... I can't figure out why either... She was fine. Any suggestions? I'll keep trying to take pictures of the babies.
Your welcome. It is annoying when you do everything you can for them and then they die for no obvious reason. I have mine in a pretty much bare tank and I still can't count them....hahaWell thanks Ian you put my mind a little more T ease... At least I know it's not just me... She was a good mama though. Protected her fry... As for luck with snapping the pics of the fry, thanks! lol I'd like to know how many there are...
I can see them alright, they just don't stay still long enough to count them!!. Do you mean, change it and protect the fry or just change it in general???Actually Ian, I COULD use your help. What is the easiest way to change out the water in my tank? And you still can't see your fry? With hardly anything in the tank? lol that made me laugh.
That fry is pretty big, in the picture anyway!!. I use a siphon and it is connected some garden hose. I change 50% every Saturday. I just chuck the hose out the window and let it drain. I secure the tube between two rocks, so I don't have to sit and watch it drain. I then fill it with a 20ltr water dispenser bottle/container, like the ones you see in an office. I put a soup bowl in the tank and fill the water into that. With the bowl, you can pour the water in a lot quicker. I have sand in my 55, so it stops it all getting stirred up and clouding. I plan on making my own water changer soon. How are you doing your changes at the moment??. How often are you testing your water and do you use strips or a liquid test kit??I mean change it in general. And I know what you mean by trying to take a picture. I managed to take one for you... But only one is in the picture.
