Here is my stand that I made from 2x4's and old barn wood. I wasnt really pleased with any of the stands they were selling at my LFS, so I decided to make my own. I always felt that most stands were too short, and that I had to bend over too far to look into the tanks. So I made mine 36" tall, and added drawers for easy access to items I use alot (food, ferts, tweezers ect..) instead of leaving them on top of the tank all the time. I'm not entirely happy with the way it turned out, I dont think its too bad for my first go around. More pics to come in 12 hours.

Good luck! Post the pix online when you finish your master piece. :)

I was looking at my 125/150G stand and it only has two front doors. One smaller one, on the left and a double door on the right.

Very nice! How long did you have to acclimate the cutie in the 3rd pic? LOL!

LOL! That stand looks great! My dad is into woodworking, when he started, you could tell he was new, but you should see the things he makes now.

That turned out really nice! How did you get the pattern on the drawers and cupboard doors?

I just used a straight 1/4 router bit and cut a groove 1/8 deep. Then I just painted grooves black. I didnt want to do anything too fancy. Was trying to make it look old, or like it was made along time ago sort of Mission style I guess.

The wood and black grooves made it an excellent match.

What's the Sump/Fuge going to look like?

Drawers where a nice feature as well.

Just finished my canopy and my lights arrived from AH supply the same day, perfect timing eh. Light kit was a 4x96 bright light kit. To be honest I was a little overwhelmed when I first opened it up and layed all the pieces out. It all went together really smoothly though, and let me tell you "Bright Kit" = understatement of the year. Retina burners would be more appropriate

Very impressive. Makes the one I built this weekend look like crap. What is this tank going to house?
