My goldfish ate a live snail!

I just saw my oranda eat a small live snail off the front glass of the tank! He just came up to it and sucked it into is mouth. Has anyone seen this happen?

Will the snails hard shell choke my fish??

He seems to be swimming fine and everything seems normal still.

I think the snail came from the plant I got recently. I thought I washed it pretty thoroughly though.

This is the same oranda that got himself stuck recently in a decoration and is still recovering from missing scales. This guy is a total troublemaker..

Your ryunkin should be fine. Most of my pond fish eat small pondsnails alot. The tiny ones have a much thinner shell that i think they can digest so no worries

Lol! My one fancy eats the little pond snails all the time without an issue. Nothing to worry about!

I work at petsmart and if they have a tank with snails they'll put a goldfish in it to eat them.

No wonder I see goldfish and kois in the the tropical community tanks lol
