Not sure what happened I changed the bulb plugged it in then the ballast started smoking only thing that I can think of is that I must have gotten water inside it, any way no lfs in the area only petsmart and I will not pay the price they want for a simple light for now I have 2 18 watt T8 plant lights on a 55 gallon what can I do to make sure none of my plants die before the light gets to me

Normally I would not worry that much a week with low lighting but this happened right after the heater went out and killed most of the tank at 105 f so the things that are left are still in thermal shock I have turned the co2 off and will not be giving any ferts until the new light arrives to head off any algae problems just can't think of what else I need to be doing
