Near extinct cichlids found

Just got sent this link and thought I should share it. It's a beautiful cichlid species that was thought to be almost extinct from damage to the rivers that they lived in.

In 10 years or so they might even become available for aquarists assuming the breeding efforts are successful. *crosses fingers*

My lfs had a cichlid that had the same shape but I know for sure that it wasn't the same species. This is a beautiful fish and I hope conservation efforts will be helpful.
