This is my pregnant balloon molly. I'm pretty sure shes close but i dont want to put her in the breeder box yet and risk stressing her out. I noticed yesterday shes "dilating." I was wondering if anyone could tell from these picks how close she is? Today shes so big the scales near her pa-tuti are splaying. I figure this means theres been a shift? HELP

Ive moved her to the breeding box for the night. She was pacing in a corner of the tank anyways. I hope she has them before i move my african butterfly out of the qt cause hell eat them all before i get to them

What all do you have in the tank she's in now? Any java moss or plants the fry could hide in naturally? I've always let my fry drop out of the box and caught them and placed them in after. Just because of stress

There are lots of hiding places but my larger fish spend a lot of time in them.

How close does she look to you?

I would say within 3-4 days max. Just be watchful for night drops my platys only drop when I'm sleeping lol

How will i know shes about to? Tonight i saw the 'tube' shell deliver from flexing toa large size. Then it got small again. Is that whats meant by 'dilation'?
