I have a Fluval 306 canister on a 40 breeder with a 200watt heater, and pool filter sand as my substrate. I run a 78w t5 HO 6700k light and dose flourish weekly for my plants. I bought the two plants in the pictures not that long ago and absolutely do not remember what they are called. Also, give me recommendations on how i can make my tank look nicer and plants to add. I hope someone can help me out on this one.

The 4th picture looks like Anubias and should be tied to driftwood or only have the roots buried. The rhizome needs to be about the substrate. The first plant looks like it may be semi aquatic but I could be wrong.

You have white ribbon plant and some anubias variant. The white ribbon plants(first ones pictured) are not an aquatic plant and will slowly die, decay and foul your water if left long enough. The anubias(last picture) like said above needs to have the rhizome, the horizontal green root, out of the substrate or it will rot. Tie it to decorations, driftwood, or even just bury the actual roots in the substrate leaving the rhizome above it.

You can add most any plant with that light but you really need to be using either liquid carbon or CO2. Also if you add more plants using dry ferts would not only be cheaper but will give plants all the micro and macro nutrients they need.

For plants you can do just about any Rotala or Ludwigia (Ludwigia Cuba and Glandulosa are favorites and Rotala Macrandra is also), Water Sprite, Wisteria, Bacopa, just about anything. Look into a couple crypts and some lower forground plants and you'll have a nice tank.
