I just Recently purchaced a 30 gallon tank its been up and running for 1 week now. i treated the water to remove chlorine waited a few days then i got 4 zebra dainos to get the tank to cycle. all 4 died the first day...my question is what should i do next. i had my water tested and ammonia and ph were both high. should i go fishless from this point or what?

yes go fishless

get a test kit, like API freshwater kit, not strips

be patient as it will tak ~1month give or take to complete the cycle

ok so i just bought a test kit and tested my water. my ammonia is at .5 and ph is at 7.5. so this means i need to add ammonia to the tank correct?

Yeah as long as you dont have fish in there. If you dont have a good ammonia source, then you can add some fish food to the tank or get a raw shrimp from the grocery store(it will rot and give off ammonia, its best to put it in something so you can get it out later when its mush, something porous).
