Need some advice on how to pot plants please

So i have some Malayan fern and amazon swords that i would like to pot. What are some cheap and easy ways to go about doing this. What kind of soil from lowes or home depot can i use?

You don't need pots or soil. Just plant them in the substrate and for the sword you need to add root tabs since it is a heavy root feeder.

As for the Malayan fern which I'm pretty sure your referring to Selanginella wildenowii is not a fully aquatic plant as it is often sold as. It will live for a time submerged but eventually it will begin to rot. This plant does best with it's roots/rhizome in the water and leaves growing out of the water.
