Neon Tetra with yellow/brown fungal(?) growth?

I've noticed that one of my Neon tetra's has developed a yellow-y/brown-y/golden-y fungus-esque thing on his side. It's interupting his color-line.

Sorry I don't have pictures or (ATM) extensive water parameters (pH about 6.5, temp 26). As soon as I saw the growth I did a 30% water change and cleaned the filters.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I don't know what it is, but your description made me giggle. I hope someone else will see this and be able to help you out.
