I have had 3 nerite snails in my 12 gallon tank for I'd say about 5 months and they're thriving, I'm kinda curious on what to feed them. I drop algae wafers in and my fish get it instead. There is algae in the tank for them but will there always be something in the tank for them to eat? Do they only eat algae? I don't want them starving. I have been looking up info on care but there isn't many specifics on general care and feeding.

Nerite snails can be supplimented with sliced, slightly soften zucchini (do it in the microwave for a few seconds), then attach it to a veggie clip and hang it in the tank after the lights are off. It may take time for them to decide it's food and eat it.

Actually nerites eat the biggest variety of algae of all the algae eaters. They eat bio-film, diatoms, green dust algae, and green spot algae.
