Well, I decided to bail on my 92gal bowfront corner. Although it was only set up for a couple of months, a few glaring problems kept arising. First, I wasn't happy with the limitations for lighting due to the shape of the tank. Similarly, I didn't like the lack of space underneath. It all came to a head a few weeks ago when my RO reservoir overflowed and dumped 30 gallons onto my living room floor. Unfortunately, I had to tear down the 92gal and move it in order to pull back the carpet and dry it out. Unfortunate but a lesson well learned.
The silver lining is that I decided to upgrade and right all the mistakes I recently made. Therefore, I recently put together the following 180 RR system:
Tank: 180 All Glass RR with corner overflows
Lighting: 2x 400W MH (10,000K), 1 x 250W MH (6500K), 2x 96 W actinic
Sump: 100 Gallon (plumbed into the adjacent laundry room)
Filtration: 350lbs of live rock (300 in tank, 50 in sump), Protein Skimmer #1: Corallife SS220, Skimmer #2: Predator PDFS-1, Kent Phosphate Reactor
Refugium: 15gallon with 2x65W PC (1x 10,000K, 1 x actinic)
Circulation: Iwaki 100RLT, 2 x 3/4 Sea Swirls
Top Off: Pressure dosing pump, JBJ ATO (32gal reservoir)
Misc Equip: Kalk drip doser (DIY)
Current inhabitants: 1 yellow tang, 2 percula clowns, 1x 6 line wrasse, green star polyps, red mushrooms
What a mess (basic life support):
Tank with homemade stand and canopy
