Not sure actually. Mine did not, but maybe I got lucky. Maybe somebody else could shed some light on this.

K I'm going to the pet store now to get my filter and I already have a clean filtered tank to put my old and new fish in once their acclimated and in a week or so ill add them to the new clean tank

By the way, rather dont boil rocks. They can explode if there is air trapped inside. I think pouring boiling water over them might be okay.

Oops lol. I've never had it happen to me so I guess I'm really lucky. I'll stop now

Me neither, and I've done it more than once but apparently it can happen. I guess the point is you dont really need to boil them so might as well be safe.
