At my lfs, I saw a beautiful apistogama cockatoo. Or something along those lines. Anybody know a little about them? And what would the smallest tank be for 1 male?

:) I'm not an impulse buyer, i just like to know everything about every species of fish :)

I have a pair of triple red cacs in my 40. They're beautiful fish. You can keep a pair in a 20, but I wouldn't put them in anything smaller. There are several color variations, but the two most beautiful IMO are the triple reds and the orange flash.

Smallest tank suitable for 1 male would be a 10 gallon, 20L or larger for a pair. Tank-bred fish are easier to get along with than imports, less particular about their water conditions. Dwarf cichlids, but still cichlids, so their general disposition can vary among individuals...
