At my lfs, I saw a beautiful apistogama cockatoo. Or something along those lines. Anybody know a little about them? And what would the smallest tank be for 1 male?
I have a pair of triple red cacs in my 40. They're beautiful fish. You can keep a pair in a 20, but I wouldn't put them in anything smaller. There are several color variations, but the two most beautiful IMO are the triple reds and the orange flash.
Smallest tank suitable for 1 male would be a 10 gallon, 20L or larger for a pair. Tank-bred fish are easier to get along with than imports, less particular about their water conditions. Dwarf cichlids, but still cichlids, so their general disposition can vary among individuals...
