New Emperor Filter Cycling Question

I have an established Penguin filter in one of my tanks. I want to replace it with an Emperor 400, how can I speed the filter/bio-wheel bio-bug development without causing havoc with the water chemistry? Anyone do this before? The bio wheels are different sizes so I can not move them to the new filter.

you could take the bio wheel and float it in the water (emperor) and until is brown you could keep running your penguin? or you could like run both of em at the same time...

Is there any way to run both filters on the tank at the same time? Barring that, put the new filter on the tank, use the media in some way in the new filter (put it in the extra media baskets) and float the old bio-wheel(s). I do this all the time. If the tank is established then a new filter should not cause a blip in the cycle at all.
