New peacock...help

I bought a peacock from petsmart 5 days ago. I put it in my 55 gallon tank and she stayed at the top hiding and would barely swim. It was like she was listing to the side and one eye stayed on the top of the water line. She got picked on so I moved her to my 37 gallon tank. She did the same thing in this tank. Then I found her upside down between 2 large rocks. I thought yep she is going to die. I caught her and floated her inn a fish net at the top of the tank. I treated the tank with melafix because her fins were really torn up and she was still getting nipped at in the net. Low and behold she turned back upright and began to swim around in the net.......So I went back to petsmart and bought a breeder tank that floats in the aquarium and put her in that so she can not get nipped at while recovering. I am still treating with melafix and she seems to be getting stronger by the day. What do you think happened to cause her listfulness? Should I transfer her back to the 55 when she recovers and grows her fins back out?

It's pretty common for a new peacock tank mate to get picked on. Usually thus stops after 2-3 days, but it also depends on the tank mates.
It is also pretty common for Petsmart cichlids to really suck.
I'd let it recover, get it's strength back, I wouldn't worry about it looking pretty ( healing fins) because when you move it back it will go through a similar initiation.
Knowing the size/breeds of it, and all it's tank mates would help.

There is a sunshine peacock about 1 inch and a few smaller fish but 1 larger yellow cichlid that is the bully. I will try to get pics of them all. I would like to know the species that I have in the tank. I will attach the pics shortly.

"Large yellow bully" sounds like a Kenyi.

OB peacock
Kenyi
Not sure
Lemon Jake, or Sunshine Benga
Not sure
Hongi Island (maybe) need side picture
Taiwan Reef, or Tangarine Tiger, or Red Empress, not too familiar.
